Our organising committee has put together a comprehensive programme for you which will make attendance at the conference a “must do” for railway professionals in general & railway engineers and technologists in particular throughout Australasia.
The engine room of the conference, the technical programme, contains 72 papers selected from 227 submitted. We are hoping to increase this to a record 80 papers to accommodate many of the quality papers we had to decline due to constraints of a two day programme. This is complimented by our two expert keynotes; Andrew McNaughton and Mike Roney.
The pre and post conference tours will allow delegates to see first hand the major redevelopment of suburban networks in Auckland and Wellington as well as the operational challenges involved in hauling freight over and through the Central Volcanic Plateau and Southern Alps.
Like all CORE conferences it is not all technical, with networking functions on Sunday and Monday culminating in the conference dinner on Tuesday night. To be held at the national museum Te Papa, the dinner will provide a last chance to network, be entertained and to celebrate excellence in railway engineers.
And if that is not enough to tempt you, we must not forget the location, New Zealand’s harbour capital – Wellington. The cafes and restaurants, Parliament and national institutions, cable car, proximity to the South Island and the vineyards of the Wairarapa all make adding at least a day or two to your itinerary a must.
